Pathe
Pathe Loud Speaker cone speaker
Made in 1924 by Pathe Phonograph and Radio Corporation, this was one of the first cone radio speakers commercially available. There is an adjustable driver with two binding post connectors on the back side. The brass tag on the base says 'Pathe Loud Speaker'. It also was available with a nickeled or a mahogany finish. This example has a green finish and is missing the paper cone. Outside diameter of the metal ring is 10-13/16 inches.
Pathe Cathedral
Illuminated Pathe Cathedral Speaker
This 1927 Pathe cone speaker came illuminated with two colored light bulbs behind the 'cathedral' window design.
Payne Co. Oracle
Payne Co. 'Oracle' horn speaker
Peter Spilger
Peter Spilger horn speaker
An unusual and large horn speaker with a square mahogany bell. The bell has decorative wood pieces in the corners and a metal flange on the back that connects it to the cast metal neck. The flange has slots in it that fit over nubs on the neck. There actually are two sets of slots in the flange to allow orienting the bell so it is flat on the top, or tilted with a pointed end on top as shown in this photo. The driver is plain with no identifying marks. The decal says 'PETER SPILGER, Electrical Equipment Repairs & Supplies, West New York, New Jersey'.
