AM-PLI-PHONE
AM-PLI-PHONE horn speaker.
This horn speaker has double cups for attaching headphones. It is a rare early version of the more-common King AM-PLI-TONE speaker, but is painted red inside rather than orange, and has a plain metal base without the decorative nickeled cover that is on the King AM-PLI-TONE.
Andia Chinese Scribe
Andia 'Chinese Scribe' horn speaker.
Made in Great Britain. It has an Amplion driver pointing up into a reflective cavity within the figure. It appears to be made of paper-mache and painted.
Andia Green Cockatoo
Andia 'Cockatoo' horn speaker.
This speaker was made in 1927 by Doulton & Co. Ltd (Royal Doulton) in Great Britain for Artandia Ltd. I've heard that Artandia was a supplier for the Ocean Liners and these speakers were used in the Luxury Cabins to supply music without having to install "Ugly, top heavy horn speakers".
The book 'Radio Art',pages 26 and 52, has pictures of other Artandia speakers.
The speaker has a driver under it which sends the sound up through a paper/fibre horn speaker into the reflective cavity within the Cockatoo and is then deflected out the bottom. I've heard that early versions had a black bakelite driver made by Amplion that had "Andia" molded on the bottom. Later the Amplion 1/4 turn Bakelite drivers were used and some may have come with Lissen drivers. It is approximately 15" high. Another picture

Atwater Kent K
Atwater Kent Model K cone speaker
This is a very rare model!
Atwater Kent M
Atwater Kent Model M horn speaker
This is a heavy speaker made of metal, and with a black crinkle painted finish. It is the only Atwater Kent horn speaker model that did not have a pot-metal driver. The model M driver has a bakelite housing and so is much more likely to still be in working condition than the other models.
